Brochure for the Broadcast department of CPL, an audio visual production and equipment rental company.

The 40 page brochure is 210mm (A4) square, printed on a thick stock, has matt lamination and spot UV on the covers.

The design uses some really great product photography, produced by CPL and is aimed at broadcast production teams. The brochure has been designed to get the right message across to CPL’s customers – that everything about the company and the equipment they supply is of very high quality and standards.

Spot UV is a type of clear varnish that is printed on top of a design. If it’s printed on to a regular paper then it doesn’t stand out very much and in some cases is hard to see (i.e. a waste of time). Therefore to make it stand out on this brochure, the spot UV is printed on to a matt laminate, which is a layer of clear matt plastic used to cover the brochure and gives it a lovely tactile and high quality aspect. This combination creates a good contrast between the matt finish and gloss varnish.
